AVG Internet Security Review
AVG internet protection offers an extensive set of tools to keep your computer safe. It is however, struggling to stand out from additional resources the competition. The smart scan is excellent and checks for several issues, including unsafe browser extensions, as well as insecure web pages that can be used as gateways to malware. It isn’t as effective in certain areas, for example, detecting fake sites that try to steal your personal information.
The program is easy to install and use. It comes with a simple interface that looks fantastic on any device. It works great whether you have a touch screen or not. The five security features included in the full package – Computer, Web & Email, Hacker Attacks, Privacy and Payments – are brought together into categories that are easy to navigate on the main dashboard. They are further subdivided into sub-categories, such as webcam protection and password protection.
If you’re looking for additional features, you can choose to add on premium phone support and TuneUp tools for a fee. There’s a version that has an VPN added for a small cost.
The upselling is highly competitive and regardless of the plan you select some features are not available unless you upgrade to the higher-end product. If you opt for the free version of AVG Internet Security is recommended, you’ll be prompted to install Google Chrome or AVG SafePrice. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before downloading any software. You may get something less powerful than you expected.
